PeerMentor®- Your source for advice in Job Transition, Career and Business Mentoring
Bringing experience, perspective, information, knowledge and contacts to your career and business.

Searching for a job, deciding to leave your current job or starting and growing a business of your own is no picnic. So many issues, questions and deadends, so many ways to get off track, so many options and decisions that need to be made to be successful.

Starting your own business seems like a great idea, but actually taking the steps to take your idea to reality is a big learning curve for most new business owners. Staying in business and growing your business once started can be another story.

Are you actively planning your next career move or looking at your current business situation? Who is listening to your goals, who is advising and helping you evaluate all the options, so you can make the right decisions for your particular situation?

Let PeerMentor, a service of Kallet Communications, Inc. be your source for the advice and input you need to deal with these issues and more!

What is a PeerMentor?

A PeerMentor is a knowledgeable and experienced professional peer, who acts as mentor to an individual or company. The concept was developed and founded by Karen Kallet. The PeerMentor process allows the individual or company to assimilate the PeerMentor’s input and knowledge into their own decision making process. The PeerMentor advises and teaches the individual how to evaluate their options, then help them take the steps and actions needed to make the decision and take the next step.

The PeerMentor interaction is a unique experience from working with a traditional consultant or coach. A traditional consultant or coach is hired by a client to evaluate the situation; set and create a plan of action; then implement a plan. Unfortunately many clients use a traditional consultant or coach to tell them what to do — or do it on their behalf. All the while following the unquestioned advice of an “ traditional consultant expert.” By abdicating the learning and decision making process, the client thinks they are saving time and shortening the learning curve, but still may not have learned really how to do what they have hired the coach to do and may fail to achieve the objective or be able to handle the situation on their own in the future, if it arises again.

In contrast, PeerMentor’s mission is to be a provider of support, advice and knowledge as an equal to the individual and company. The individual and company assimilates the PeerMentor’s support, strategy and advice and as a new direction and strategy is created or revised.
